⬤ Reading passage about our Solar system
OUR SOLAR SYSTEM
The Sun and everything around it is The Solar System. Our solar system has many parts. There is The Sun in the centre and the other planets and moons orbit around it. It also has asteroids, meteors, and comets. The Sun’s gravity keep them in their orbits.
There were nine planets in the Solar System. Pluto was also called a planet. But then scientists have decided that Pluto isn’t really a planet at all. Now the solar system has eight planets. They are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. This is the order of the planets from The Sun.
Some planets have moons, or satellites. These moons and satellites orbit the planet. Earth has one moon. Jupiter some other planets have many moons. Mercury and Venus don’t have any moons. All these form our Solar System.
